A Bradenton woman was killed the night of May 15 when the SUV she was riding in was rear-ended by another car on State Road 70, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say the SUV was in the inside eastbound lane, stopped at the light at 87th Street East at about 10:45 p.m.
A sedan, also heading east, failed to stop and rear-ended the SUV, troopers say.
A 50-year-old woman in the SUV was injured and later died at a local hospital. Her 19-year-old daughter in the front passenger seat received serious injuries. The two women were not wearing seat belts, investigators determined.
The 41-year-old male driver, who was belted, received minor injuries, troopers said.
The driver the sedan, a 27-year old man, also received minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, the FHP said in a news release.
