Furnishing Hope: How Copenhagen Imports is Giving Back to the Homeless This Holiday Season

For the twelfth consecutive year, Mikael and Karen Hansen, owners of  Copenhagen Imports, is continuing its commitment to support Sarasota's homeless community through its popular annual Stressless promotion. The event has successfully raised over $65,000 for Resurrection House of Sarasota, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing vital services to those in need.

Mikael and Karen first connected with Resurrection House through their church, Church of The Palms, and were drawn to the organization's all-faith approach to serving the homeless in Sarasota. Located in the heart of the Rosemary District, Resurrection House has been a lifeline for the homeless in the community for decades, offering essential services like showers, laundry facilities, counseling, medical care, veteran’s assistance, food, and clothing. For many in our beloved community, Resurrection House is, quite literally, their only sense of home—both in a physical and metaphorical sense.

Thanks to the ongoing efforts of Copenhagen Imports, 100% of all donations raised through the Stressless promotion go directly to the mission of Resurrection House. “It’s comforting to know that every dollar donated goes directly to helping those who are struggling in our community,” says Mikael Hansen. With Sarasota seeing an increased need for these services, funds are desperately needed.

From now until January 20, 2025, customers who donate $50 or more to Resurrection House will receive an immediate rebate of up to $400 on each Stressless furniture piece purchased. This is an opportunity to shop for luxurious and ergonomically-designed Stressless furniture—such as recliners, sofas, and dining chairs—while also making a positive impact in the community. Win!
