Supplies, comfort stations set up on Longboat

There are several locations set up on Longboat Key for residents to get necessary supplies and as well as the opportunity for a brief respite.

Comfort Stations: Available beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1. Services available include water, electricity to charge phones, a place to cool off and connect with others:

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paradise Center, 546 Bay Isles Road
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at All Angels By The Sea Episcopal Church, 563 Bay Isles Rd.

Neighborhood Point of Distribution: at the Publix Parking Lot, 525 Bay Isles Pkwy., from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items available include ice, water, sports drinks, tarps, and Meals Ready to Eat.

Entry to the island is only accessible through the South end, over the New Pass Bridge, until 7 p.m.

A curfew is in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Reentry will not be granted to those after 7 p.m. 

All persons granted access must be self-sustaining with food, water, medical supplies and have secure quarters – compliance with movement and curfew restrictions is required.

Water service: A boil water notice is in effect until further notice. Resident are asked to continue to conserve water.

Power service: Approximately 90% of properties have been restored to power – please contact Floirda Power & Light for further updates.

Keep your sand bags: Residents are urged to keep sand bags for future use.

Solid Waste: Waste Management is expected to resume services as road conditions allow.
