UPDATE: Gulf of Mexico Drive is back to normal after a late-Tuesday morning crash involving three vehicles on the south end of Longboat Key.
One person was taken by ambulance to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, and another was evaluated on the scene but did not require further emergency medical treatment, according to Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Tina Adams.
Longboat Key police and fire personnel were called to the 300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive around 11 a.m. in response to the incident, which took place just south of the site of a previous crash last week that also prompted lane closures. It is near a median-construction project on Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Crews had the roadway opened before noon.
PREVIOUSLY: Police and fire-rescue personnel are working at the scene of a three-car crash on Longboat Key, prompting traffic delays on the south end of the island.
Longboat Key first responders were dispatched to the 300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive around 11 a.m. Tuesday. One lane was initially closed. The incident took place about 500 feet from a crash last week that also prompted a lane closure in the construction site of a turn lane project.
No serious injuries were reported Tuesday morning, said Tina Adams, a fire-rescue spokeswoman.
