Death of Palm Aire couple likely homicide-suicide, investigators say

The deaths of a man and woman, both in their late 80s, in Palm Aire on Wednesday was likely a case of homicide-suicide, Manatee County investigators said.

Deputies were called to the 7200 block of Treymore Court in the Treymore at the Villages of Palm Aire neighborhood around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and discovered in the front yard of a home the bodies of two residents, both of whom had been shot.

According to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, a small pistol was found. Upon further investigation, a note indicating premeditation was discovered. There is no evidence to suggest that anyone else was involved in this incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Family members from out of town were notified, and the investigation continues.
