John Annis, the longtime senior vice president of the Barancik Foundation, will assume a new role beginning in May, as will Omar Guevara-Soto, the philanthropic organization’s strategic initiatives officer since 2024.

Transitioning as part of a five-year retirement strategy, Annis on May 1 will become a senior advisor, focusing at a “higher level on fostering new philanthropic collaborations in the region,’’ according to a Barancik news release.

Guevara-Soto will take on the role of Senior Vice President for Collaboration and Impact, leading efforts in grant creation and community partnerships.

Annis has been a senior vice president with the foundation since 2018, during which the foundation awarded $143 million in grants.

“This is a win-win for our growing network of grantees and our future work as a foundation,” said Teri A Hansen, President and CEO of Barancik Foundation. “Omar and John will continue to work closely together over the next several years to shape and advance Barancik Foundation’s grant making and our many other forms of community support.”

Hansen in late March announced plans to retire after a decade of service.
