Sarasota Memorial Health Care System welcomed its first baby of 2025 early Wednesday morning.
Isaiah Lisinski, a healthy 7.5-pound boy, was born at 3:36 a.m. at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The first baby born at SMH in the new year, he followed 17 other babies delivered on New Year’s Eve.
Isaiah arrived more than a week past his Dec. 23 due date, surprising his first-time parents, Natalia Lagunes and Sean Lisinski of Manatee County.
“He was supposed to be our Christmas baby, but ended up being our New Year’s baby,” Natalia said. “We were not expecting it, but are very happy with the outcome – a new year, a new baby, we feel really blessed and grateful to God that everything worked out.”
Natalia labored long past other moms who arrived after her, but received the support of OB hospitalist David Mateo, and the labor and delivery team who helped her follow her natural birth plan, welcoming Isaiah to the song "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United.
“It was exciting, nerve racking and beautiful all at same time,” Sean said. “My first thought when I saw him was that he was the most precious thing I’ve seen in my life.”
Isaiah was presented with a New Year's baby basket, and a car seat filled with gifts from SMH's mother-baby team.
