Friends of Sarasota County Parks Master Gardener Chapter will host a 1960s-themed garden party to raise funds for a sensory garden installation at UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County.

“Flower Power for the Future” will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County grounds in Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road. Imbibe on food and Prosecco, enjoy ’60s tunes provided by a DJ, car show, garden tours, a presentation by the Bradenton-Sarasota Rose Society, silent auction and more.

The sensory garden project is part of a multi-phase effort to improve and expand the demonstration gardens at the Sarasota County Extension campus. The gardens provide examples of Florida-friendly landscaping principles to use in home gardens. A learning circle at the center of the sensory garden also will provide extra classroom space for hands-on learning.

Tickets, which cost $30 per person or $25 for active Master Gardener volunteer members, can be purchased at eventbrite.com. The event will take place rain or shine.
