All Angels by the Sea surpassed $10,000 with its annual art sale last month, beating the $9,319 raised last year, according to administrative assistant Linn Torres.
Community members donated about 470 pieces to support the "New to You" sale, which started Feb. 3. Torres acknowledged that curating the sale is a big undertaking, but she said the church is immensely grateful for the public's support, both in donating and buying items this year.
This is the fifth year the church has held its sale, and the proceeds this year are going to support Turning Points, which provides support for Manatee County families and individuals facing homelessness.
Though this sale is just coming to a close, Torres said she is already making plans for next year.
