The 2026 Senior PGA Championship is coming to The Concession Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch for three consecutive years, the PGA said today in a statement.

It will be the first time the event -- one of the Senior PGA Tour’s five major tournaments -- will be played in Florida since 2000. The event will tee off for the first time on April 16-19, 2026 and be played at The Concession through 2028.

“We are incredibly honored and excited to host three Senior PGA Championships beginning next April,” said Bruce Cassidy Sr., the president of The Concession Golf Club in a statement. “Since opening in 2006, The Concession has quickly cemented itself as one of Florida’s premier clubs, and we look forward to welcoming the best senior golfers from around the world to The Concession and Florida’s West Coast.”

The Concession was designed by golf icons Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin and pays tribute to Nicklaus’ display of sportsmanship in the 1969 Ryder Cup in which he conceded a putt to Jacklin that resulted in a tie between the American and European teams.

“The PGA of America is proud to take the next three editions of the Senior PGA Championship to one of Florida’s finest venues in The Concession Golf Club,” said PGA of America President Don Rea Jr., PGA Master Professional and Owner/Operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club (Arizona). “Designed by two icons of our game —Jack and Tony—, The Concession will provide a fantastic test for the world’s best senior players. We cannot wait for the first Senior PGA Championship in Bradenton next April.”

The Concession has previously hosted high-profile events, including the World Golf Championship in 2021 and the Senior World Champions Cup in 2023. But none this prestigious.

In recent weeks, the club has gained approval to release about 3 acres of conservation easement to open up property changes that could lead to an even bigger prize: The PGA Championship, one of four major tournaments operated by the premier golf tour.

The Senior PGA Championship, the longest-running major championship in senior golf, began in 1937 at Augusta National Golf Club. The Championship annually features a 156-player field consisting of numerous major champions, World Golf Hall of Famers and past Ryder Cup captains. Tiger Woods, who has more major titles than anyone except Nicklaus, will turn 50 this year and can compete on the Senior PGA Tour in 2026.

The 2025 Senior PGA is underway this week at the Congressional Country Club outside of Washington, D.C. Richard Bland is the defending champion.
